Why us? |
The answer is this: we care about every aspect of the game and numerous times go to great lengths to make both new and long standing players more comfortable in their lives here. We are a very unique shard in pretty much every way and we have Counsellors who will guide you through the starting.. but it won't take long to get on your feet (some people prefer to play totally on their own at the beginning.. down to your own RP style). The one thing we need is you! Thats right, we don't have you, yet! Something we hope to change. Hopefully the following will help us convince you. |
Software Installation |
Installation is easy! Just download our installer and run it. Don't worry about your UO client being 'damaged'. You don't have to open up files in a text editor or download clunky third-party programs that 'break' every couple weeks until an 'update' is made available. Just simple and effective to get you up and running. On top of this add an IRC channel and forums where you can easily get help with any problems you may be having, and you have a win win situation. |
Character Development |
Our character development process is quite different to anywhere else. A unique guild system will ensure your character grows the way you want. Feel free to play casually, because you'll never feel like you are left out and powerless when it comes to taking on challenges the world can throw at you. Our QL's and GM's are very experienced and make quests for all levels. If you find something too hard, just say so and it could be adjusted to suit you. In fact, we're sure that you'll even enjoy the character development process, in addition to finding it much easier on your wrists and your real-world commitments! |
What You Want, and More Of It! |
Multiplayer games these days seem to be all about money. Pure and simple greed. Some games don't fix the existing problems yet release all manner of "expansions" which just add further bugs into the mix. Here at SQ, We don't charge you, we fix problems almost as soon as they are reported and we really do care. We take on all variety of suggestions and bugs and try our best to make you happy as long as it fits in with our shard's general directions. Of course while developing your character your treasury may seem like the most important thing to you, but we think there should be more than that to the game. We think a game like this should be about friends, adventure, co-operation, challenge, skill, being part of another world, and simple enjoyment. |
No Exploiters, PK'ers, Griefers or the like.. |
Our staff work hard to ensure that we are free of exploiters, pk'ers, griefers, scammers and other undesirable people you probably have no wish to spend your online time with. To start with, we have an application process that ensures most of the people that just would not enjoy playing just don't make it to login. You have to apply and be accepted by 5 senior members of staff. One no vote and the application is rejected - they can reapply though. Beyond that, we take the quality of our player base seriously. We are perfectly willing to get involved and be sure that no one disrupts players' enjoyment of the game by implementation of a variety of techniques from jailing, to stat/skill reduction, character deletion, or banning of the account. |
This land is your land! |
You can own your own houses to decorate or use how you choose. Live in a town, or find the more secluded places out of the way aside for a couple of distant neighbours! Choose from dozens of available properties, or wait for the more special property auctions. |
No Overcrowding! |
We are small and constantly developing. You won't find every hunting spot you and your friends wish to travel to already clogged with a dozen players. You won't have to fear every time you want to visit a gathering place. You won't have to spend all your time re-reading your logged conversations to be able to see what a companion of yours said. You won't have to camp at the vendor mall and hope to get lucky this time and be able to purchase the items you need. |
